AYAKA declared a new "friend."
AYAKA visited the Machino district of Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, yesterday to record a radio program.
Wajima City was the victim of the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day, 2024, and measured a maximum intensity of 7 on the Japanese seismic scale.
The earthquake caused tremendous damage, with more than 500 people killed in Ishikawa Prefecture alone.
Even now, two years after the earthquake, approximately 20,000 people are still living in temporary housing, and the situation is still far from recovery.
AYAKA met with residents of temporary housing and nursery school children yesterday, and during the radio recording, she declared, "Machino is also our friend," and vowed to continue to be involved in the affected areas.

AYAKA has long supported the recovery of Onagawa Town, describing it as her "friend" since she appeared on Onagawa Saigai FM in Miyagi Prefecture, which was established as a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.
This time, AYAKA's appearance on the program was made possible through a connection with Onagawa Town officials' support of "Machino Radio," a disaster FM scheduled to be established in the Machino area.
Therefore, since AYAKA expressed that Machino "is also" their friend.
According to a report in a local newspaper, AYAKA commented as follows.
I wanted to help Noto as Momoclo.
When I first came to Machino, I felt the possibilities were endless. We want to have a regular show in Machino.
