The late great musician also had ties to MCZ.

Yesterday, news broke of the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, a legendary artist in the world of heavy metal.

We would like to share that MCZ also had a connection with Ozzy Osbourne.

The connection between Ozzy Osbourne and MCZ was established through their collaboration at "Ozzfest Japan 2013," held at Makuhari Messe in 2013. This

event was a heavy metal and loud rock music festival organized by Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon Osbourne. MCZ's appearance at this festival, which was held in Japan for the first time, as an idol group sparked mixed reactions.

Held on May 11, 2013, the festival featured big names in heavy metal and hard rock such as SLIPKNOT and Black Sabbath, with MCZ standing out as an unconventional idol group among the lineup.

KANAKO opened the performance by shouting, "Decide for yourself!" and "We are the idols right here in front of you!" This direct challenge to the criticism of idol appearances sparked a fervent response from the audience.

Later, Ozzy Osbourne reportedly praised MCZ's performance, commenting, “This is Japan!”

Following this, the opportunity for idols to be invited to rock festivals in Japan increased, and there is no doubt that MCZ's performance at this event played a significant role in this trend.

Additionally, one of MCZ's signature songs performed at this live event, "Kuroi Shumatsu (means 'Black Weekend')," strongly reflects the influence of Black Sabbath, particularly in its lyrics and arrangement, which pay homage to Sabbath's style.

A Mononofu posted on X, "Without Ozzy Osbourne, ‘Black Weekend’ would never have been born," expressing their respect for him.
