A member of a junior sister group has begun a long-term hiatus

Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, also known as "ebichu", is a junior sister group of MCZ and entered its 17th year this year. The group's official website announced that Nakayama Riko, 25, will take a hiatus due to health issues.

As previously reported by this site, Riko had already missed several events and concerts since April, leading to growing concern among fans, known as "Family".

The latest announcement stated: "Regarding member Nakayama Riko, she has been suffering from poor health since April of this year. Following medical advice and repeated discussions with her, it has been decided that she will focus on recuperation for the time being."

The statement continued: "Although she strongly wishes to return to activities, our top priority at present is her recovery so that she can once again stand before fans in perfect condition. Once there is a clearer outlook regarding her return, we will make another announcement through the official website and other channels."

For the time being, ebichu is expected to continue its regular activities with the remaining seven members.

As for Riko, we sincerely hope she takes sufficient time to rest, fully recovers her health, and returns when she is truly ready.
