MCZ performs at the first music festival of the year.
MCZ performed at the 'JIGOROCK 2024' music festival, which was held at the Oita Sports Park in Oita Prefecture for two days from 16 March to 17 March.
MCZ performed on the second day, 17 March.
JIGOROCK was planned as the first major music festival in Oita Prefecture, but was cancelled in 2023 to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
There were two major obituaries in the Japanese animation world this month.
One was the death of manga artist Akira Toriyama, who wrote Dragon Ball, as reported on this website.
The other was the sudden death of TARAKO, the voice of the main character in the nationally acclaimed anime Chibi Maruko-chan, which has been on the air for over 30 years since 1990.
These two news items were reported one after the other, and there was great surprise and sadness.
And MCZ was the theme song for both animations.
In 'Dragon Ball', MCZ provided the theme song for the film adaptation, 'Z no Chikai (means 'Pledge of "Z")'.
In 'Chibi Maruko-chan', MCZ still sings the opening theme song for the weekly TV version, 'Odoru Pompokolin'.
MCZ performed a total of seven songs at the festival, the last two being 'Z no Chikai' and 'Odoru Pompokolin'.
On this day it had been raining at the venue since the morning, creating difficult conditions for the audience, who had to watch the show soaking wet.
However, only during the sixth song on the setlist, "Z no Chikai", did the rain stop and the sunset shone on Momoclo like a spotlight during the singing of the chorus sung by KANAKO, which caused a huge stir among the audience.
The official website reported the moment in X.
