MCZ's cheering song for this year has been announced.

MASAHIRO Tanaka of the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants, who is just two wins away from the all-time record of 198 wins in Japan and the U.S., pitched his first game of the season yesterday at his home base, the Tokyo Dome.

MASAHIRO had already pitched once for the Giants, who had moved to Tokyo this season, and had already won one game in a hostile environment.

Since MCZ's appearance song can be heard only at their home base, yesterday was the first time of MCZ's cheering song this year.

(Some local footage taken by some spectators is shown below.)

The song was announced as “Acceleration” and was created by John Kanda, guitarist of the rock band Penguin Research.

The theme of the song is “recapture,” and it is a fast-paced, emotional rock tune that inspires the team that missed the top spot in Japan last season.

The song will be available on various subscription services from midnight on April 30.

Note that MASAHIRO was in poor form that day and was KO'd in the first two innings, giving up six runs on seven hits.

He is scheduled to pitch again on May 1 against the Hiroshima Carp at Tokyo Dome.
