Idol Group Almost in Sync with MCZ Announces Dissolution
"Tokyo joshiryu (means 'TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE')," a four-member idol group that MCZ has always referred to as their "almost-synchronized" group, announced through their official X and official website that they will disband on March 31, 2026. Their last live will be held on the same day at Zepp DiverCity.
Since their debut in 2010, TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE, along with MCZ, has survived the "Idol Warring States Era" of the 2010s and gained popularity for their high quality of music and performances.
TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE was formed in 2010, two years after MCZ, but the release date of their major debut CD "Kirari" was exactly the same as that of MCZ's major debut CD "Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo" on May 5, 2010.
Tomorrow will be exactly 15 years since their respective major debuts.
MCZ and TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE have been in contact with each other for a long time, often performing together at the year-end "Momoiro Uta Gassen.
The members of TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE announced their breakup during the encore of their 15th anniversary concert held on May 3, 2025.
According to the official release, the decision to dissolve the group was made "after many serious discussions among the members and staff about the future of the group and each member.
The group will release their seventh album, "TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE," on July 30, marking the one-year period until their breakup as their "culmination.
