MCZ to Hold a New Year's Eve Event Again This Year.

MCZ management has announced that the group will once again hold its annual music festival Momoiro Uta Gassen at Nippon Budokan on New Year's Eve. This will mark the ninth edition of the event.

Momoiro Uta Gassen began in 2017, the year MCZ declared their "graduation" from NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen. Since then, the show has traditionally taken place during the same time slot as Kohaku, with the exact moment of the New Year celebrated during the performance of "Ikuze! Kaito Shojo" ? specifically at the instant of KANAKO's iconic jump.

However, starting last year, the event schedule was changed from nighttime to daytime on December 31. This year as well, it is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. and conclude around 7:00 p.m.

Because the event no longer overlaps with NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen, there has been speculation that this timing change could pave the way for one of MCZ's sister groups to appear on K?haku. Fans will be eagerly waiting for the official lineup announcements from both shows.
