Another Idol Group Announces Its Disbandment.
Fukuoka-based female idol group "Kyushu joshi yoku (means 'Kyushu Girls Wing')" has announced that it will end its activities at the end of August 2026. The announcement was made on the group’s official website and social media accounts on the 21st, sparking a wave of farewell messages from fans.
Kyushu Girls Wing, whose group color is the passionate “red,” was formed in 2017 and began performing mainly in Fukuoka. In 2018, the group launched regular live shows in Tokyo and Osaka, while also raising its profile through consecutive appearances at Tokyo Idol Festival (TIF) and international performances in Thailand and Taiwan. Their aggressive dance style and emotional sound have been especially praised.
Regarding the reason for disbandment, the official statement explained that it was “the result of many discussions and careful consideration with the members since around this spring,” but no specific details were disclosed.
The group is also known for its deep respect for Momoiro Clover Z (MCZ), often appearing on the outer stages of MCZ’s large-scale concerts in remote locations such as Fukushima, Saitama, Kameoka, and Shibata. This connection is even highlighted in their official profile, which introduces them as “a group highly recognized nationwide, including appearances on MCZ’s outer LIVE stages.”
On their official YouTube channel, fans can also find a cover performance of MCZ’s song Shiroi Kaze (White Wind) by the member. (below)
Following the announcement, many posts on X (formerly Twitter) expressed that “they were an essential presence at MCZ’s outer stages.”
Despite the planned disbandment, Kyushu joshi yoku will continue performing for about one more year. Their schedule includes regular concerts and live events, with a major highlight being their 3rd solo concert at KANDA SQUARE HALL in Tokyo on September 14, 2025.
