Another Radio Program Also Rated Highly.
Yesterday we reported that Nippon Broadcasting System topped the radio audience ratings and that MCZ’s program contributed to that popularity. Meanwhile, TOKYO FM - another station where MCZ has a regular show - also announced that it “took first place” in the same “Video Research Greater Tokyo Radio Audience Survey” conducted in the August.
In fact, this is not the first time both stations have promoted themselves as “No. 1.” Over the past few years, the two have both claimed to be “No. 1 in the Greater Tokyo area.”
The reason lies in how the statistics are segmented. Video Research’s audience survey is broken down into multiple categories - by gender and age group, weekdays vs. weekends, time slots, and more. Because the two stations split popularity across these segments, either one can end up “No. 1” depending on how the target categories is defined.
This time, TOKYO FM is promoting a “remarkable achievement” of “20 consecutive terms at No. 1” in the category of “men and women aged 12?69, all-day average.”
In addition, MCZ’s regular program “Momoiro Clover Z Happy Clover! TOP10” is also “No. 1 in audience ratings.” ... (albeit specifically within the two categories of “men in their 50s” and “women in their 50s”).
