Obstacles to Holding Next Year's Christmas Concert.

As previously reported, MCZ is set to stage their large-scale winter concert “Momoiro Christmas 2025” at Saitama Super Arena over two days, December 20 and 21.

However, according to official information from Saitama Prefecture, Saitama Super Arena will close for an extended period starting in mid-January 2026 for major renovations to address aging facilities. The construction period is announced as up to 18 months, which would render the venue unavailable during the Christmas season in December 2026.

MCZ’s Christmas concert has effectively become a tradition at Saitama Super Arena; excluding the cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year marks the eighth consecutive year and the eleventh edition overall. In 2026, a change of venue will be unavoidable, drawing attention to how the organizers will respond.

With a wave of new large-scale arena openings underway in regional cities across Japan, expectations are growing among mononofus outside the Tokyo metropolitan area for a potential staging beyond the capital region.
