A grand New Year's Eve singing battle was held.
The annual Momoiro Uta Gassen, organized by MCZ, reached its ninth edition and, as in previous years, was held on a grand scale at Nippon Budokan.
More than 70 artist groups participated, and the live event ran from 1:00 p.m. on December 31 until around 8:30 p.m.
Less than one hour after the start, it reached No. 1 on X's trending rankings. It achieved the top New Year's Eve trend for the seventh consecutive year.
The event was broadcast live on the internet streaming service AbemaTV, and after that it has been available as an archive for one year.
