KANAKO to Appear on Stage

It has been reported that MCZ member Kanako will appear in a revival of the popular play 9 de Kata ga Tsuku (means 'It Gets Settled with Nine') by the theater company Yamada Japan. Kanako is set to play the role of Miyoshi, the owner of a mahjong parlor, in the production. The performances will run from March 20 to March 29, 2026, at the Honda Theatre in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo.

Yamada Japan is a theater troupe founded in 2008 under the leadership of director Yoshitatsu Yamada, who also worked on the screenplay for the Netflix series The Naked Director released in 2019. The group is known as a rising force in theater, made up of comedians and key members from other theater companies.

This production, being revived for the first time in seven years, is a comedy that depicts a human drama centered on the protagonist's relationship with their mother.

Kanako released the following comment:

I am honored to be appearing in a stage production by Yamada Japan.
 
I am filled with both excitement and nervousness at the opportunity to take part in a work by Yamada Japan that is loved by so many people, and to stand on the historic stage of the Honda Theatre.
