Shiori Watched the World Cup in the United States
Shiori updated her Instagram and revealed that she watched Japan's opening match against the Netherlands in the FIFA World Cup group stage live in Dallas.
The match against the Netherlands took place last Monday. Japan put up a strong performance against the higher-ranked Dutch side, earning a 2-2 draw.
Recently, Shiori has been taking on more soccer-related work. During the final round of the AFC World Cup qualifiers, she served as an MC for "Fanzone," a fan support program streamed on DAZN.
However, her visit to Dallas was not part of any broadcast activity. Instead, it appears that she simply enjoyed the match as a spectator.
Shiori wrote the following in the comments section:
(Note: The comment mentions "tomorrow's match against Tunisia," but that match was actually played yesterday, with Japan securing an impressive 4-0 victory.)
"My long-awaited World Cup experience! I went to watch the group stage opener between Japan and the Netherlands in person!
I couldn't stop feeling excited the whole time!
The match was incredible, and the atmosphere in the stadium was electric!
I found myself cheering passionately for Japan, and I truly felt how wonderful it is when people come together with a shared purpose.
The tournament is still far from over!
I'm really looking forward to the match against Tunisia tomorrow!
I'm cheering for the team!"
