Kanako from MCZ Makes Special Appearance in HYDE's Music Video
HYDE has unveiled the music video for "SMILING", a track from his new album "JEKYLL" - and it features a surprise guest: Kanako from Momoiro Clover Z.
The video was filmed in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, a region famous for its heavy snowfall. The wintry landscape lends the visuals a hauntingly beautiful, lyrical quality that perfectly matches the mood of the song. Kanako, who shares a close friendship with HYDE, was personally invited to help bring the world of "SMILING" to life on screen.
HYDE is a globally active rock artist, best known as the vocalist of L'Arc-en-Ciel, VAMPS, and THE LAST ROCKSTARS. His connection with MCZ runs deep - he has repeatedly praised the group and their devoted fanbase, the Mononofus.
One of the most memorable moments came at Kishidan Banpaku 2022, where HYDE delivered a fully committed, straight-faced cover of MCZ's "Koko Natsu", leaving the audience completely stunned. This latest collaboration feels like a natural extension of that mutual respect and chemistry between two of Japan's most iconic acts.
