Momoka Returns with Heartfelt New Album Shizuku no ne After Eight-Year Wait.
After eight years of silence, Ariyasu Momoka - former member of MCZ - is finally ready to share her most personal work yet.
It has been announced that she will release a two-disc album titled Shizuku no ne (means "The Sound of a Drop") on April 5.
Momoka herself wrote and composed all the songs. Disc 1 contains 11 new tracks, while Disc 2 includes 15 songs recorded from past live performances. (Note: only Disc 1 content will be available on subscription streaming services.)
From arrangement to recording, the album was carefully crafted together with the band members who have worked alongside her over the years. There was a strong commitment to using live instruments - not only band sounds, but also strings and brass recorded live - giving the album a warm, organic feel throughout.
Ahead of the release, the pre-release track "Do you know" is now available on major streaming platforms. Stream it on Spotify below.
Momoka shared a heartfelt message ahead of the release:
I have decided to release the album "Shizuku no ne."
At last... finally... I am truly happy to be able to share this news.
This is my first album since making a fresh start with a serious commitment to music.
I gathered all the feelings I had at the time, along with the precious emotions I received at live venues, and condensed them tightly.
The single drop that finally fell from that is "Shizuku no ne." To everyone who has been waiting for me, thank you so much.
To those I will meet from here on, I look forward to your support.
Shizuku no ne releases on April 5. We can't wait to hear it in full.
