KANAKO to Reprise Her Role in Avengers: Doomsday
KANAKO will once again voice Shuri, the Black Panther, in the Japanese-dubbed version of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
She is one of 29 Japanese voice cast members announced for the film, alongside fellow returnees Miyake Kenta (Thor), Nakamura Yuichi (Steve Rogers) and Mizobata Junpei (Sam Wilson).
The film opens in Japan and the United States simultaneously on Friday, December 18, 2026, distributed in Japan by Walt Disney Japan.
Shuri is the princess of Wakanda and the younger sister of the late T’Challa, the former Black Panther. After her brother’s death, she took up the Black Panther mantle, becoming both a scientist and a warrior.
KANAKO has voiced Shuri since Black Panther (2018), including Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The film is the latest Avengers installment, arriving seven years after Avengers: Endgame. Robert Downey Jr., best known as Iron Man, appears as Doctor Doom, a new threat to the heroes.
In her official comment, KANAKO said:
“I’m truly happy to be part of the Avengers series as it returns for the first time in seven years. Just imagining it makes my heart race.”
