A Music Video from Four Years Ago Is Drawing Renewed Attention
The music video for MCZ's digital single "Majoram Therapie," released in November 2022 and later included on the May 2024 album Idola, has suddenly attracted attention over the past few days.
The renewed interest was sparked by comments from fans of both groups, who noticed that the official music video for "Jiku wo Koete Universe (means 'A Universe Beyond Time and Space')," a new song by M!LK, MCZ's younger brother group, released on September 14, shares the same director and has a similar visual style.
"Jiku wo Koete Universe" is the lead track from M!LK's mini-album LOVE ENG!NE, released on September 16. Following its advance digital release, the song topped various charts, and its music video garnered 10 million views in just two days, making it a hit.
The director is visual artist ZUMI, who also posted, "The evangelists of love dance in a heavenly temple." for this video.
Meanwhile, the official music video credits for "Majoram Therapie" also list "Director/Art Director: ZUMI." With its Arabian-inspired, fantasy-oriented colors, rotating camera movements, and recurring heart and light motifs, the video has prompted comments from M!LK viewers in the official music video's comment section, including "The director is the same" and "People are going back and forth between the two videos."
Joining in on the buzz, MCZ's official label account, "Momoiro Clover Z KING PR," also quoted the official music video in a post asking, "Could they be similar...?"
Fans have continued to react with comments such as "I came here from M!LK" and "Majoram is getting a lot of attention." As a result, the collaborative song from nearly four years ago is once again becoming a popular target for repeat viewing.
