RENI Disappears in the Middle of a Music Festival

As previously reported, MCZ was scheduled to perform at today's music festival, Rockin' Japan, but its appearance was canceled due to a typhoon. However, on the 19th, the group had already delivered a shocking performance at FEST. INAZUMA 2026, which opened at Karasuma Peninsula Lawn Square in Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture.

MCZ performed "Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo" in its entirety as the sixth song on the setlist, which seemed likely to be the final number. But then the members began making a fuss, claiming that the RENI standing next to them was actually someone else.

SHIORI opened with, "Who are you?" KANAKO replied, "It has to be our oldest member, Renichan." AYAKA stepped in to verify and declared, "That's not Renichan. Her face has turned into that of a cute girl!"

The key point was that the switch had already begun midway through the song.

"Throughout the entire performance of Kaitou Shoujo, Renichan wasn't actually Renichan."

"No wonder the dancing was so sharp and easy to follow."

Multiple eyewitness notes along these lines were posted on X.

Apparently, a dancer had been standing in for RENI, allowing her time to change costumes.

After the switch was exposed, the real RENI made her entrance in an illusion staged by a samba troupe using cardboard boxes as shields.

She was wearing an extravagant samba costume, complete with a full set of feathers, which she had just worn at her solo concert.

The 33-year-old RENI delivered a passionate monologue while performing one chorus of her solo song, "Bon☆Bon☆Samba☆Bomber YEAR." Meanwhile, the other three members reportedly stood frozen at the side of the stage, looking completely nonchalant.

One Mononofu commented:

"Only Inazuma would pull off such an elaborate and enthusiastic farce."

And so, it seems there are two "purple" figures in the commemorative photo.
