There were no cases of COVID-19 infection at the Meiji-za performances.

MCZ producer Akira KAWAKAMI reported on Twitter that there have been no cases of COVID-19 infection so far in all six performances at the Meiji-za Theater, from the 'Namie Joshi Hatsu Kumiai (JA-Namie)'s performance on September 24 to MCZ's performance on October 4.

He also revealed that 87% of the audience on the last day of the event had already received two doses of the vaccine. (At the moment, the percentage of Japanese citizens who have received two doses of vaccine is 62%, which is much higher.)

The MCZ management is known for its strict infection prevention measures compared to other groups.

The main current measures are as follows.

  • The seats are sold with one seat on each side.
  • Calling or cheering during the performance is prohibited.
  • It is prohibited to wave or spin towels during the performance. (When "Tsuyoku tsuyoku" was performed at the Meiji-za Theater this time, people waved psylliums (lights) instead of towels.
  • It is required to report emergency contact information when purchasing tickets.
  • If a person is infected with COVID-19 within 14 days of a performance, the event organizer must be contacted.
  • In the event of a report of an infected person, the event organizer will contact the audience seated within a distance of 2 meters from the front, back, left and right.
  • A follow-up survey will be conducted for 14 days after the performance. (The organizer will send a questionnaire to the audience and ask them to respond to it. (The organizer will send a questionnaire to the audience and ask them to respond to it.) Responding to this survey is a condition for admission.
  • If a person is infected with COVID-19 within 14 days of the performance, the seat number at the time of seating will be disclosed on the official website.
  • Vaccination status will be inquired and counted. (However, this will not affect to ticket sales.)
  • Participation in this "ORIGIN" tour is limited to those who live in the prefecture where each venue is located. (People cannot travel from other prefectures to see the show.

Although there are many restrictions, we would like to thank the management for their hard work in somehow providing entertainment.
