'Haru-ichi' was a big affair.
Last weekend, over two days on Saturday and Sunday, MCZ's big spring live 'Momoclo Haru no ichi dai ji (means 'One Spring Event')' took place in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
This was the fifth time that MCZ has worked with local authorities to promote the area.
We participated on the 1st day.
Fortunately we were blessed with fine weather for the two days, but Day 1 was colder than average for the season and even with our official parkas we still felt underdressed.
The live show, however, was hot and exciting.
DAY 1 started at 4:30pm and DAY 2 at 3:30pm, with the outdoor venue (the athletics track was the venue) getting dark earlier on DAY 1.
This meant that the Psyllium lights spread out beautifully.
And the surprise of DAY 1 was the third and final encore, 'Mata au hi made (means 'Till we meet again')' (MCZ had covered the old standard number, which was a hit in Japan in the 1970s, on their album 'Shukuten (Celebration)'), when fireworks went off. (There were no fireworks on DAY 2 as it was still light outside).
A video of this moment was posted on a Youtube site by a local who happened to be filming on the other side of the river (Ashida River) that the venue overlooks.
If you listen carefully, you can also hear the last part of 'Mata au hi made (Till we meet again)'.
The warm color light at the bottom right seems to be lit by the mononofus that filled the stands (we were part of it..).
There is an article about DAY 2 on the media site Ototoy, which is considered an 'official report'. As usual, an automatic translation link is provided below.
