KANAKO delivered relief supplies.

The beginning of the year 2024 in Japan was marked by a terrible disaster.

On the evening of January 1, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake centered on the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture in the Hokuriku region caused a great deal of damage.

In addition to the destruction of houses caused by the earthquake, major fires and tsunamis also occurred, causing diverse damage over a wide area.

The full extent of the damage has not yet been ascertained due to the fact that many of the towns are rural and sparsely populated, but about 80 deaths have been reported so far.

Amidst all this news, word spread around social networking sites that MCZ's KANAKO had personally delivered relief supplies to the affected areas.

The photo of the tweet (post of X) at the bottom of the page displays the following textual explanation.

We received many relief supplies directly from KANAKO of MCZ. 

Please take them with everyone.

Various opinions were exchanged about this, including its authenticity, but later, MCZ's producer KAWAKAMI posted the following explanation, which revealed that it was delivered by KANAKO.

KANAKO prepared the supplies after hearing from an acquaintance of KANAKO's in Ishikawa Prefecture who had been affected by the disaster that there were no supplies at all.

KANAKO was personally contacted directly by an acquaintance of KANAKO who was related to a local aid organization in Ishikawa Prefecture that had been affected by the disaster and needed urgently needed supplies.

The acquaintance then had the relief supplies transported to Kanazawa through regular channels, and from there, the acquaintance transported them to the affected area.

We sincerely hope for the safety of everyone in the affected areas and the earliest possible restoration and recovery.


The supplies were delivered to an evacuation center set up at an elementary school in Nanao City, not by KANAKO herself, but through an acquaintance.

In the past, there has been criticism that having celebrities at the site immediately after the disaster would cause confusion, so this time KANAKO seems to have decided to use this method in consideration of the circumstances.

After the disaster, the members of MCZ have not been updating their Instagram and other social media.
