There are several prominent Mononofus in the Japanese horse racing world, and one of them, jockey KOTA Fujioka, was seriously injured in a race last weekend.

KOTA Fujioka is a veteran jockey who made his debut in 2007 and has won 803 races so far.

He was 13th in last year's ranking and has been in good form so far this year, being in ninth place.

He fell off a horse in the 7th round of the Hanshin race on Saturday, and according to information available today, he is still unconscious four days later.

In an interview, his brother, jockey YUSUKE Fujioka, commented.

'At the moment, he has not regained consciousness yet, but we are monitoring his progress. We can only hope that he will do his best.

'I think there are many people who are worried about him. I hope he manages to come home.'
