New album sales struggle.
The first week sales of MCZ's seventh album 'idola', which was released on 8 May, have been revealed.
According to the Billboard Japan weekly album sales chart "Top Albums Sales" published on 15 May 2024, MCZ's 'idola' was ranked fifth in the weekly ranking.
It sold an estimated 17,755 copies.
The previous album, 'Shukuten (means 'Celebration')', sold 26,203 copies in its first week, which is a decrease of approximately 30%.
However, the weekly ranking is based on a combination of release date and counting period, and this title does not include two days in the first week breakdown, with a total of five days of sales.
The previous title's tally was based on a total of six days of sales, and we have to allow for that amount of tallying error.
In addition, there has been an increase in the use of subscription services over the past two years, so a simple comparison cannot be made, but in any case it does not appear to be a 'booming' sales.
