A great manga artist who was associated with MCZ has passed away.
It was reported this week that manga artist KAZUO Umezu passed away on the 28th of last month. He was 88 years old.
KAZUO's works were characterized by an eerie touch that depicted the darkness that lies deep within human beings, and he later became known as the “God of Horror Manga.
One of his best-known works is “Drifting Classroom” (1972), a realistic depiction of children surviving after their entire elementary school is warped into a devastated future, which was also made into a movie.
The jacket image of MCZ's 2019 single “Anta Tobashi sugi!! (means 'You're too Fast!' was created under the supervision of KAZUO Umezu and was well-received as “special collaboration art”.
